Main results

Five aspects of parental response to a false-positive CF screening test are addressed: (1) parents' knowledge of the Wisconsin neonatal screening program and the CF screening test, (2) parents' understanding about test results, (3) the effects of screening-related anxiety upon parents' feelings, (4) the effects of false-positive screening results upon reproductive plans, and (5) parents' attitudes about the delayed disclosure of test results in the control group.
